Apologies...

Sorry -- the order in which I intended these pictures to be seen is opposite the way my post came out.  (Guess I'm "rusty").  To see the sequence I intended, please begin viewing with the picture below, which has a title, and work your way up.  Thanks.  -- Lester
Here is a picture of the RCBC
Here I am talking with the Fire Chief
as the re-wetting process
was going on
Firemen had to wet it down again
the next morning
More detail
The intense heat damaged the side of our
Church Building,
but ut remained intact, for which we
thank the Lord.

Recent house-fire near RCBC

This house, next to the RCBC building,
burned Sunday night, 3-27-11.  No one hurt.
Our sympathy to our neighbors, who suffered a devastating loss.

Wow, it hardly seems possible that so M-U-C-H time has elapsed since I posted here last.  That was at the beginning of 2010, and now we're almsot a quarter of the way into 2011.  Where, oh, where, has the time gone???
Last May we went to Lynchburg, VA for our older son's graduation from LU, with a major in Criminal Justice.  Now he's well on his way to finishing his first year of Law School!
And now our younger son is just returning to his CA home from a year's deployment in Iraq.  He's a Captain, and does the "legal thing."
And now -- our 3 girls, and their 6 children (2 each), -- one is married (grandson), one is in College (granddaughter), two have been playing High School volleyball (granddaughters), one played high school soccer and basketball this past season (grandson)...!!!

And now, a word of encouragement from the New Testament, "Have faith in God!" (Mark 11:22)

2010

Twenty-Ten, mellifluous sound,
Year that’s upon us, unknown and profound,
Innocent, untried, in obscurity now,
Soon to take shape and develop, but how?

Again a New Year has freshly appeared,
Pristine, mysterious, but not to be feared,
Stress and uncertainty may perhaps be its game,
But let us instead think of trust for its name.

Shall we now tremble, run for cover, and doubt
That this Twenty-Ten can bring good about?
‘Twill have its fair share of reversals, it’s true
But who knows the good coming to me and to you?

Living by faith, knowing not what’s ahead,
We must not surrender to worry and dread,
But trust in our God, Who made Heaven and Earth,
He sent Jesus His Son to live here, through birth.

And He died for us all, could not be detained
By death or the grave, for the power He retained
Both to lay down His life, and to take it again,
Son of the Highest, unique among men!

A promise He gave someday to return
To take you and me who on earth do sojourn,
Who own Him as Savior, praising God’s love,
To stay with Him ever, in mansions above.
